Who we are

Built in the Biomechanics Lab. Validated in the Clinic. Designed for Impact.

Grasshopper Health was born out of the Biomechanics Lab at the University of Nebraska, where researchers first uncovered a promising gait signature in veterans with vascular disease. What began as a small VA-funded study evolved into a major discovery—culminating in a peer-reviewed publication in Nature Scientific Reports. The findings were clear: subtle gait changes can signal disease before symptoms surface.

Armed with this breakthrough, we launched Grasshopper Health with one bold mission:

To make gait the standard of care biomarker for diagnosing and monitoring neurologic, vascular, and musculoskeletal disease.

We believe gait is the most underutilized vital sign in medicine. While it reflects the integration of brain, muscle, bone, and blood flow, gait is still evaluated the same way it was 100 years ago: by observation and stopwatch.

We're changing that.
